September 24, 2026: Approved feedback¶
The app improvements approved after the meeting with Lisa Groom, and where each one landed.
App improvements¶
| Improvement | Status |
|---|---|
| A small, friendly avatar: a low-poly emoji of a senior man in fencing costume | Done. On the start screen. Source is apps/mobile/assets/images/avatar/fencer-avatar.svg; pnpm avatar:render redraws the PNGs. |
| Haptic feedback on the Start button | Done. A medium impact when Start is pressed. |
| Skydiving as the first video sample | Done. Tom's skydiving memory plays the family's tandem skydive video, muted and looping behind its song. |
| Keep the elevator ride as is; define a memory illustration scenario | Done. The elevator ride keeps its words and song, and now shows the first memory illustration, "Beckanna". See Memory illustrations. |
| Explore generating memory illustrations where no real photograph exists | Explored. The definition, labeling rules, and open questions are in Memory illustrations. The first illustration was made outside the app. |
| Babe Ruth: "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" and an authentic photograph | Song done (Gene Kelly and Betty Garrett, from the 1949 film). The photograph is waiting on Thomas. |
| Each question appears only once per session | Done. A session no longer reshuffles and repeats. |
| Limit the question set to five unique questions | Done. A session draws up to five memories, each once. |
| A Quit or Exit button once finished, and the quit screen | Done. The last memory offers Exit in place of Next. The quit screen shows a large question mark and "So, what did you think of the experience today?" |
